Exhibiting art from the colonial times to the present, the Greenville Country Museum of Art located in the South Carolinian city of the same name features a wide range of art for both adults and children to enjoy. The majority of the art in the permanent collection focuses on art from the Southern United States. Andrew Wyeth: The Greenville Collection is always on display in the Museum and includes examples from all major periods of his career, 35 paintings in all. The Contemporary Collection consists of exemplars from every major movement in American art, and features artists such as Romare Bearden, Jasper Johns, Andy Warhol, Jacob Lawrence, Josef Albers, Eric Fischl, and Leon Golub. There is an annual exhibition on children’s book illustration.

The Greenville County Museum of Art is located near Heritage Green in Greenville downtown. Free parking is available and admission is free of charge. The museum is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays 11pm to 5pm, and Sundays from 1pm to 5pm. Thursday evening the museum stays open until 8pm. Guided tours are free to groups of ten or more but must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
