Lion, elephants, reptiles—to see these exotic animals, no need to visit Africa or Asia, they are all on display at the Greenville Zoo, located in Greenville, South Carolina. Animals include giraffes, orangutans, giant tortoises and lions. The two most popular animals are the elephants, Joy and Ladybird. The Reptile Building, which houses frogs, lizards, turtles and snakes is also a popular exhibit. Visitors should plan and hour and a half to view the zoo completely. The zoo is 10 acres and is the most visited “family facility” in Upstate South Carolina. The Zoo is located in Cleveland Park, where visitors can also enjoy a children's playground, picnic areas, walking paths and open green space. The zoo features a concession stand that sells drinks, hotdogs and sweets, and there is gift shop that features zoo-themed gifts.

The Zoo is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day and is open from 10AM to 4:30 PM. Gates close at 5 PM. Entry for adults is $6 and children pay $3. Every year, the zoo holds a fund raiser called “Sippin´ Safari” for adults that opens the zoo up in the evening and features drinks and gourmet snacks.
