Guaiba Bridge is the crossing which connects Porto Alegre to the Guaiba Lake’s archipelago. Called the Ponte do Guaiba in Portuguese, the bridge offers access to Grande dos Marinheiros, Pintada, Pavao and Flores. Most of the islands are uninhabited, but about 15,000 people live on the major ones and survive on fishing and recycling.
