Guinness Storehouse

The Guinness Storehouse, located in the heart of the St James’s Gate Brewery, Dublin, Ireland, was originally built in 1904 to house the Guinness fermentation process. It was constructed in the style of the Chicago school of architecture, with massive steel beams providing the support for the structure of the building.
On the ground floor is the Retail Store, which introduces visitors to the four ingredients: water, barley, hops and yeast, all of which combine together to make a perfect pint. The next floor provides guide steps through the Brewing Process. Also on this floor, there is a state of the art Tasting Laboratory.
On the fifth floor people learn to pour their own pint of Guinness and receive a certificate to prove that they have mastered the craft. There is also the Source Bar , an artistically designed bar and beside this, the Brewery Bar, an informal and relaxing place to dine. Finally, the head of the pint is represented by The Gravity Bar, opened 7 days a week from 9.30 am to 5 pm.
The admission fees are : for adults 13,5 €, students over 18 -€ 11, students under 18-€ 9 and for children between 6-12 € 5.
The Storehouse is fully wheelchair accessible. It also has a complimentary car parking available at the visitor car park on Crane Street.
The best way to get to the Storehouse from the city centre is on foot. From Dame Street straight ahead and follow the road around, passing Christchurch on the right and leading onto Thomas Street. The Storehouse is on the right on Market Street. Also buses 51B and 78A leave from Aston Quay and stop near it.
