Gund Arena

Hotels near Gund Arena, Cleveland (Ohio), United States .

Previously known as the Gund Arena, this Cleveland landmark officially became the Quicken Loans Arena in 2005. Although it has always served as an arena for a variety of sports teams, it was named for the former owner of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers, Gordon Gund. In addition to the Cavaliers, it is today also home to the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters, and the AFL's Cleveland Gladiators. Owned and operated by the Gateway Economic Development Corporation, it was first opened in 1994 as part of a broader project to help increase consumer traffic in downtown Cleveland. The funding for the arena was largely provided by a tax levied on alcohol and cigarettes prior to its creation. Today locals often refer to the arena as "The Q."
For those looking for nearby accommodations, consider the Radisson Hotel at Gateway.
