Haagse Hout is one of the seven stadsdelen of The Hague. Its old name was the Die Haghe Houte, which later became the current Haagse Hout. The district is inhabited by 42,000 residents. Haagse Hout has four smaller divisions: Benoordenhout, Bezuidenhout, Mariahoeve en Marlot, Haagse Bos.
Villapark Marlot has the highest income of The Hague, and is one of the most verdant areas, as well as being one of the most expensive suburbs of Europe to live in. The Haagse Bos is the largest green area, almost completely covered by parks and fields- one of the oldest remaining forests of the Netherlands. This city park divides Haagse Hout into two: Benoordenhout and Bezuidenhout - North Woods and South Woods.
As a curiosity in the Second World War German V-2 rockets were stationed in the park just north to this district.
