Located in the capital city of Turkey, i.e. Ankara, the Hacettepe University is one of the important universities in the country with its impressive array of staff and facilities for students. This university comprises of two chief campuses, the first being situated in Old Ankara town and the other one being Beytepe Campus that is placed about 13 km away from city centre. Beytepe Campus is spread over 6,000,000 square metres of woodland and green area and faculties like that of Engineering, Science, Fine Arts, Economic and Administrative Science are located in this campus. Apart from these two campuses, the other campuses are School of Social Work; Polatli Campus housing both the Health Services School and Technical Science School and the Beselver Campus (incorporates Turkish State Conservatory).

The foundation of the university was laid in the year 1958, starting with the founding of the Institute of Child Health. The main or the central campus of the university comprises of the Medical Centre, situated in the heart of Ankara, at the interception of the old and new towns. Currently, the Hacettepe University consists of 20 institutes, 9 faculties, 24 research centres and 15 vocational schools. This university is a state university that receives funds from the Turkish Parliament.

The university hosts many important national as well as international conferences and has many amenities for its students as well. Not only are the students offered great centres of learning, the university has a state of the art library, student support programmes and great accommodation and recreation facilities.
