Hampden Park

Hampden Park is Scotland's national stadium located in Glagow. It is the home ground for Queen's Park F.C and the Scotland national football team. It also hosts music concerts and other sporting events. The Scottish Football Association, SPL and Scottish Football League offices are also found in the stadium. It has also hosted prestigious sporting events, including three European Cup finals and the UEFA Cup final and during the 2012 Olympics it will host games during the early stages of the Olympic football tournament.
Hampden was built in 1903 and was preceded by two other stadiums since 1873. Although all signs of the original stadium are long gone, it is known throughout the world as an iconic home of football and celebrated its centenary on 31 October 2003. After the release of the Taylor Report in the wake of the Hillsborough disaster, among other football tragedies, Hampden Park was converted to be all-seater in the re-opening that took place on 14 May 1999, with a capacity of 52,103.
The design of the stadium has been criticized as supporters sitting in the stands behind the goals are a long distance from the pitch. In discussion of the problem, the SFA develop plans to increase Hampden's capacity to at least 70,000.
The Scottish Cup Final is played at Hampden annually in May, for the honor of lifting the world's oldest national trophy - the Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup that dates from 1873.
