Harriet Beecher Stowe, is of course the celebrated author of Uncle Tomís Cabin, a seminal book which depicted the injustices of slavery and offered cutting insight into race relations in the South. The Harriet Beecher Stowe House, in Cincinnati, Ohio is a historical site which takes a look at the life and times of this acclaimed author. Among other things, it explores abolitionism, womanís rights and the Underground Railroad from the 1830ís-1860ís. It also delves into African American History at the time. The house was where Stowe lived with her father the Reverend Lyman Beecher, before she married. The Beechers lived in Cincinnati for twenty years, and that is where Harriet based her best selling book, Uncle Tomís Cabin.

Visting hours are 10am-2pm Tuesday-Saturday.
