The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center is responsible for taking care of The Harriet Beecher Stowe House, a beautiful cottage-style house built in Gothic architecture style where she lived for the last quarter-century of her life. The house has been lovingly preserved, and it's possible for visitors to tour the home and see her vast research library as it stood while she was living, with numerous books, documents, and letters on display.

In addition to maintaining the house, The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center also runs the visitor's center, where those with a thirst for history can learn even more about this remarkable woman and her life.Situated in the carriage house, the visitor center is surrounded by peaceful Victorian gardens. For flower-lovers, tours of the gardens are also available.

Both the house and the center are open year round, and tours are also offered year round. There are special seasonal tours, including ones for Women's History, African American History, and even a special Christmas at the Stowes tour. While closed on Mondays, The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9:30am until 4:30pm and on Sunday from noon until 4:30pm.
