The restaurant, which has been around since the 1930s, has a diverse clientele made up of politicians from the nearby Capitol building and offices, residents of the neighborhood, the odd college student impressing his date from Emerson, and of course, doctors and nurses from prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital, located right across the way.

As popular as the restaurant itself is, a great place to hear some political gossip is actually at the bar, where politicians and reporters get drunk and accidentally spill the beans on a regular basis.
