Harz National Park

Comprising of more than 10% of the mountain ranges of Harz Mountain, Harz National Park is located in the federal states, Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt, in Germany. With over 95% of the area covered in forests, mainly comprising of beech and spruce woods, the park also has various creeks, bogs and even granite rocks. Being situated on a mountainous area, there is a variation in the elevation from sea level of the park from one end to the other. At the northern rim, the elevation is about 755 feet and at the other end the elevation is about 3743 feet. The park is flanked by Herzberg and Bad Lauterberg at the south and Harzburg and Ilsenburg at north.
