The Aguascalientes Airport (full name: Lic. Jesús Terán Peredo International Airport) is a privately operated airport that is part of the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, one of the bigger private transport groupings in Mexico. The airport is located in the outskirts of the historic city of Aguascalientes (literal translation: "warm waters"), where colonial buildings and rich local cultural traditions combine with the natural blessing of thermal water baths to create an ideal vacation destination.
The airport has one terminal which was recently improved to increase annual passenger capacity to roughly 1.5 million. There are rental car services at the airport offered by recognized companies such as Hertz, Budget, Thrifty and Dollar. The airport boasts wireless internet access at several points throughout the terminal. In addition to a handful of Mexican carriers, there are three international airlines with flights to and from Aguascalientes airport: American Eagle, Continental (operated by ExpressJet Airlines) and Aeromexico. A taxi fare from the airport to the center of Aguascalientes will generally rack up to about $170 (Mexican pesos), which means approximately 15 US dollars.
