The Hawaii State Capitol is the official seat of the Hawaiian state legislature. It is the capitol building of the state of Hawaii. The building is located in downtown Honolulu and it was opened in 1969, replacing the older statehouse which was called ‘Lolani Palace’. The new building was designed in an adaptation of the Bauhaus style. Several memorials and commemorative statues surround the capitol building. There’s also a reflecting pool which was designed to represent the Pacific Ocean. Guided tours are available Monday through Friday at
1:30pm. Metered parking is available.
