Heinz Memorial Chapel

Hotels near Heinz Memorial Chapel, Pittsburgh, United States .

The Heinz Memorial Chapel was dedicated in 1938 as a gift from the founder of the H.J. Heinz Company, Henry John Heinz. Although he died much earlier, his children made sure that his wishes were fulfilled and that the chapel was installed in honor of their grandmother, Anna Margaretta Heinz.

Although the chapel does not belong to a particular denomination, it is frequently used for various religious services, community events, memorial services and weddings. This beautiful neo-Gothic style structure is located on the University of Pittsburgh campus and is noted for it’s impressive architecture, pipe organ, stone vaults and high ceilings. For more information about visiting the chapel, refer to their website at http://www.heinzchapel.pitt.edu.

Hotels in the area include the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, the Pittsburgh Days Inn and the Quality Inn University Center.
