The Henry Doorly Zoo, previously known as Riverview Park Zoo, first opened its doors back in 1894. Located at 3701 South 13th Street, the zoo is a favorite past time of native Omaha, Nebraska residents and curious visitors. The zoo counts over 17,000 animals amongst its numerous attractions, which lie upon an area of 130 acres. The Lied Jungle is the world's biggest indoor rainforest, the “Kingdoms of the Night” nocturnal animal exhibit and cat complex are the largest in their respective categories as well. In addition to its amusement and recreational purposes, the zoo holds dear its purpose of animal conservation and environmental research. Notable species which can be found along the jungle path include the Scarlet Macaw, Ring-Tailed Lemur, and the Black Howler. Exhibits such as the Hubbard Gorilla Valley and the Durham Family Bear Canyon delight visitors.

Hours vary according to the season, and can be found on the website. The zoo is open all year except Christmas, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving.

Admission is $7.75 for children age 3-11, $11.50 for ages 12-61, and $10 for 62 and over.
