The only facility in the nation that focuses on the display of Air Force armament, the Air Force Armament Museum is located in Destin, Florida. It was originally built in 1975 on a different part of the Eglin Air Force Base than the one on which it sits today. On the museum's property there are numerous historical planes which were once employed by the Air Force. Among some of the most notable are the F-4 Phantom II jet and the WWII B=17 bomber. Within the museum, there are bombs, missiles, and rockets on display for the education of the public. There is also a gun vault, which includes more than 180 handguns. Located at 100 Museum Drive, the Air Force Armament Museum is easily accessible by car.

The museum is open Monday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Entrance is free for all visitors.
