Hialeah Park Race Track

Hotels near Hialeah Park Race Track, Hialeah, United States .

One of the most popular spots in Hialeah, Florida for visitors and locals alike is The Hialeah Park Race Track. A true institution of the city, Hialeah Park Race Track opened in 1921 and immediately drew crowds. The race track weathered a hurricane in 1926, was the site of Let It Ride, a horse racing movie from the 1970s, and a temporary break where it was closed to the public.

When the park was active, it hosted a number of important races, including The Flamingo Stakes, one of the most important stepping stones to The Kentucky Derby, perhaps the most famous race in the entire world. Now, Hialeah Park Race Track still hosts races, but is also a popular spot for other types of gambling, with slot machines on-site.

Open daily, The Hialeah Park Race Track is close to a number of hotels, including The Holiday Motel, The Palm Avenue Hotel, and Hialeah Terrace Motel.
