Hobby City, the brainchild of Beatrice ``Bea'' DeArmond, debuted in 1955 as home to a giant art and craft market with around 20 specialty hobbyist’s shops. Throughout the years, Hobby City has been home to model building stores, dollhouses, stamps, coins, rocks, teddy bears, antiques, reptiles and a store about cowboys of the Wild West, amongst many others!

The centerpiece, a mini replica of the White House, was once the Hobby City Doll and Toy Museum. In its heyday home to the entire collection of Barbie dolls, race cars and trains, today the White House is used as an event space and banquet facility.

One can still spend the day at Hobby City perusing the vendors, and at next-door-neighbor Adventure City- a theme park geared towards children 12 and under. Once in danger of being cleared away to build a condominium complex, Beach Boulevard´s attractions are a wonderful Anaheim alternative for kids of all ages.

Nearby attractions such as Knott´s Berry Farm, Disneyland, Medieval Times, and the already mentioned Adventure City, are all conveniently located by accommodations such as the Ramada Limited Disneyland Area,Days Inn & Suites by Knotts Berry Farm, and the Anaheim-Buena Park Travelodge.
