The Hofkirche (Court Church) in Innsbruck, Austria features the ultimate gift of a grandson wanting to pay tribute to his grandfather. Ferdinand I had Hofkirche built from 1553-1563 as a memorial to his Holy Roman Emperor grandfather Maximilian I.

Located on Universitätsstrasse 2 in Innsbruck, the church exudes classic Gothic architecture and design. Architect Andrea Crivelli designed Hofkirche in keeping with the traditional German hall church style.

Aside from just being a church, the Hofkirch does contain a hefty collection of German Renaissance sculptures, along with one the most famous Renaissance organs in the world by Jörg Ebert.

Entry cost 4.45 Euros for an adult and 1.45 euro for students. Hofkirche is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00AM-5:00Pm.
