Forming part of the Holcomb University campus, the Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium is located at 4600 Sunset Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. Located on the north end of campus, the observatory and planetarium were refurbished in the mid-1950s thanks to the generous donation of local philanthropist James Irving Holcomb and his spouse.

There are public tours of the facility available on most Friday and Saturday evenings, with specific dates being set and published on the facility's website, hosted by the university, and visible at http://www.butler.edu/holcomb-observatory/tours/public-tours. Visitors get to peer through the telescope and then there is a planetarium show given using the facility's large projector. The cost of a tour is set at $3 for adults and only $2 for kids, making it well worth the expense. Private tours can be scheduled by phone, and are charged at different rates.
