Aker Brygge is located in Oslo, Norway. Situated on the west of Pipervika, it is a part of Oslo Fjord. A shipyard named Akers Mekaniske Verksted was built in 1854. This shipyard closed its operations in 1982.

Four years hence, in 1986, shops were opened to mark the first phase of development of Aker Brygge. It spans over an area of 260000 square meters.

The greatest attraction is the panoramic view of Oslo Fjord that travelers get to see from Aker Brygge. Another major attraction is the boardwalk at the seafront. Aker Brygge is fondly known as Oslo’s pearl window.
