Hotels near Hollywood, Los Angeles, United States .

Of the many famous neighborhoods in and around the greater Los Angeles, California, area, Hollywood is the most universally known district for its fame, cultural identity, and for being the epicenter of the American movie industry. Although the majority of the movie “industry” has now migrated into areas outside of Hollywood, it is still the location of the Paramout Pictures backlot, many historic theaters, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In the late 1800’s the neighborhood now known as Hollywood was an agricultural community of 500 citizens. By 1913 Hollywood’s very first movie studio, Nestor Studios had rolled into town. Just two short years later in 1915 most American films were being produced in the greater Los Angeles area, eventually lead by the four major companies Paramount, Warner Bros., RKO, and Columbia. Famous Hollywood landmarks include the Capitol Records building (1956), the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment District, Kodak Theatre- home of the Oscars, the Hollywood Bowl, and Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

While exploring in and around Hollywood, some of the district’s most famous attractions include Amoeba Music, the Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Odditorium, the Sunset Strip, and Pink’s Hot Dogs. Popular annual events like the Academy Awards, CINCON Classic Film Festival & Exposition, and Hollywood Christmas Parade also draw large crowds to the area. Hollywood can be easily accessed by LA’s MTA bus, subway and train system. To add an extra dash of Hollywood glamour, enjoy your visit in style by choosing to stay in fine hotels like the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the Vagabond Inn Hollywood Hotel, or the Highland Gardens Hotel. Or, head a bit further west to the hotels of the Sunset Strip like the Standard Hotel, Le Parc Suite Hotel, and the Ramada Plaza West Hollywood.
