One of the most popular racetracks in all of south Florida is located in Homestead, Florida, just a short drive from all of the hustle and bustle of Miami. Opened in the early 1990s, its name is practically second-nature to most NASCAR fans. The track? Homestead-Miami Speedway.

One of the newer tracks that hosts NASCAR races, The Homestead-Miami Speedway can hold an audience of 65,000, and it is not uncommon for the speedway to be packed to capacity on big race days. Some of the most popular events that take place at Homestead-Miami Speedway are those of Ford Championship Weekend, where the final races of The Nationwide Series, The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and The Camping World Truck Series all take place during a short amount of time.

The Homestead-Miami Speedway was built initially to stimulate south Florida's economy after the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. The plan was highly successful, and the speedway is now one of the most popular places to see a race in the whole state.

Homestead-Miami Speedway is done up in traditional south Florida style, with a lot of Art Deco influence and colors that wouldn't be out of place in Miami Beach.
