The Hong Kong Cultural Centre is located in the south west tip of Tsim Sha Tsui. Its complete address is 10 Salibury road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The location of the theatre was previously the site of the old Kowloon station of the Kowloon-Canton Railway. The building took almost ten years in the making since the first foundation stone was laid in 1979 and was subsequently finished in 1989. It is the primary and premier cultural centre in the city.

The Centre has three major halls for usage namely the Concert hall, The Grand Theatre and The Studio Theatre. The Concert hall is able to seat 2019 people in its oval shaped auditorium. It is where the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is based and it houses an 8,000-pipe pipe organ that was built by Rieger Orgelbau.

The Grand Theatre can seat up to 1,700 people. It is an ideal site for ballets and musicals. The Studio Theatre is a smaller area with 496 seats that is perfect for small events. Other facilities include the Exhibition Gallery, 4 foyer exhibition areas and 11 rehearsal and practice rooms.
