One of Maui´s best food bargains, The Honokowai Okazuya & Deli changed owners in 2006, but keeps the same menu that focuses on fish dishes for take-out. The prices are among the lowest in west Maui, and there are only a few counter seats in the restaurant and small tables out front. Most people buy food to take back to their hotels or condos. The menu does not change for lunch or dinner, and there are meat, fish and vegetarian options. The food is packed in Styrofoam containers for easy transport. Okazuya is a Japanese word combining okazu (side dishes served with rice) + ya (small storefront). Entrees include Chicken Katzu, Kung Pao Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Teriyaki Steak, Mahi Mahi, Fish 'n Chips, Tofu Chow Fun, Ono Lemon Caper with Sundried Tomatoes and Broiled Salmon with Sweet Thai Chili Sauce. There are also sandwhiches and salads.

The Honokowai Okazuya is located in a small shopping center that also contains AAAAA Rent-A-Space and a Pizza Hut, and very close to Star Market. It is open from 10am to 9pm, and closed on Sundays. Nearby lodging options include the Hawaii Hilton, the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort, Outrigger Hotels: Outrigger Napili Shores and Spa and the Marriot Maui Ocean Club.
