Located in Springfield, Illinois, the Hoogland Center for the Arts is dedicated to helping arts-related organizations maximize their programming. An organization that has grown from the combined efforts of many local artists, patrons and organizations, the Center caters to artists of all kinds, including dance, theater, music, visual, writing, and photographic arts. Once a Masonic Temple, the 80,000-square-foot facility was built in 1909, and features the Levi, Ray & Shoup Theatre, Theater 2, Theater 3, the Club Room, the Dining Room, the Board Room, the H.D. Smith Art Gallery, the Polly Roesch Social Room, and the Reyhan Reception Area. The Center for the Arts was created in 2001 by not-for-profit organization the Springfield Arts Center, Inc., and due to its downtown location is right in the heart of cultural, dining, café, live music, and performance attractions. While in Springfield enjoy other attractions like the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Dana-Thomas House, the Old State Capitol State Historic Site, and the Washington Park Botanical Gardens.
