HOORN KERSENBOOGERD TRAIN STATION

Hoorn Kersenboogerd is located on the Zaandam - Enkhuizen line, in the Kersenboogerd estate in Hoorn, the North of Holland in the Netherlands. The station is mostly referred to as The Hoorn Oost Railway Station by locals, because of the fact that it is in the east side of Hoorn. Hoorn Kersenboogerd has a direct link to Amsterdam, the Nethrlands’ capital, and one of the main tourist destinations in the world.
The Hoorn Kersenboogerd Station, designed by engineer J. Bin Articon, was opened on June 6th 1986, is an example of a suburban station, due to its unique aspect. Until May 6th 2009 an essay track - approximately one kilometre east of the station - was used by one of the local trains (3300, to be precise) to reverse. From that point, the line to Enkhuizen used to be a single track. The track used to be called Hoorn Kenserboogerd Essay - abbreviated Hnko.
The closest airports are Schiphol and Eelde. Points of interest worth visiting in the surrounding area are the Toymuseum De Kijkdoos, Vlietlanden Golfbann. If staying for a longer period of time, apart from these attractions, a visit to the nearby cities is also recommended: Enkhuize, Bovenkarspel, Andijk, Medemblik, Stavoren, Rijs, Wieringerwerf, Oudemirdum, Aartswoud, Warder, Koudum and Lelystad.
