The Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is located right on the beach, between the famous Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. There’s a mile long fresh water lagoon where visitors can rent canoes; there are two trails along the beach where nature enthusiasts can hike and spot the local fauna and flora. Nearby, there’s a paved road reserved for bicyclists and skaters. Picnic tables dot the area overlooking the channel and electric pavilions are available to the public for rent. The park is open 365 days a year from 8am till sun down. Admission fees are $6 per vehicle, $4 per single occupant vehicle, $2 per pedestrian or bicyclist.
