The Hunter Museum of American Art is a must for any art lover traveling in the Chattanooga area. Located right by the Tennessee River on 10 Bluff View, the museum specializes in American art form the Colonial period to modern times. Works include paintings, furniture, sculptures and modern installation. The works of artists such as Winslow Homer, Mary Cassatt, Childe Hassam and Robert Rauschenberg can all be seen at the Hunter.

Numerous events, seminars and classes take place at the Hunter on a continuous basis. Rooms are also available to rent for private functions. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children as of 09/09. Hours are Monday Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, Wed. and Sunday 12 noon to 8 pm and Thursdays 10-8.
