One of Al Ain’s seven oases, Al Ain oasis has been attracting tourists from around the country and the world. A large date palm oasis, it is located in the heart of Al Ain City and has been developing as Al Ain’s newest attraction. This oasis has been undergoing protection and development for precisely this tourist potential. Arched gate entrances allow visitors into the site.

The United Arab Emirates’ Bedouin history has been designed to permeate throughout the oasis. Old styles of houses use for farm workers storage and accommodation, mosques, rest areas and restaurants are the oasis’ current features.

This city has been an important intersection for ancient trading routes. Divided into many sections for the purpose of date farming, these farms are the possession by many different departments, sheiks and other nationals. The entire plantation has a perimeter wall and is irrigated by falaj which is an irrigation system comprised of narrow waterways that has been around since 1,000 BC. The water used is from a mountain thirty kilometers away.

Two majestic forts at both the east and west edge were built in the oasis for defense purposes. These forts are currently museums. Attractions include the Ain A Fada Resort Abu Dhabi, Al Ain National Museum Abu Dhabi, Central Public Gardens Al Ain, the Al Ain Mall Abu Dhabi, Al Ain Zoo and Aquarium Abu Dhabi and the Hili Archaeological Gardens Abu Dhabi as well as Jabel Hafeet, which is a 1,340 meter mountain with great sunset views.
