Huntington State Beach is located on the two mile stretch of land that extends up from the Santa Ana River north to Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach on the Newport Beach boundary. Across from this sunny California beach can be found the Huntington Beach Wetlands, which lie upon 114 acres. The beach is a popular destination spot for families and people of all ages, who come to enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery, picnic, walk, bike, surf, fish, sail, and skate. Weddings on the beach are also an option. Bonfire rings are also counted among the beach's amenities. The beach is known as an important sanctuary for the endangered California list tern, and the rare snowy plover. Lifeguards patrol the beach throughout the year, and staff the towers during high seasons.

The park is open from 6 am to 10 pm, Monday through Sunday.
