The International Conference Centre Durban has played host to several important conferences in South African history. The convention centre is renowned for its flexibility and its capability to accommodate thousands of delegates. By itself alone, it can house approximately 5,000 participants in one sitting. Moreover, it can double that amount by linking up with its sister building, the Durban Exhibition Centre.

The ICC Durban is distinctive because of its design. It can be reconfigured to support as much people as it could and also to give a different theme from other previous conferences. Not many conference centers in the world could achieve that, which makes ICC ideal for a lot of conferences. In fact, it has garnered a couple of awards including World Travel’s Leading Conference Center for Africa. The AIPC has also included it in its top 10 conference venues globally.

The ICC is not the only attraction in Durban. The city houses several other places of interest like the 32-tank Ushaka Marine World, as well as the Indian district, which is called the Grey Street. Here, you can sample some of the best Indian cuisines outside of India. Of course, there is the Umgeni River Bird Park and its diverse collection of local and exotic bird life aviaries. You can also visit the Durban Botanical Gardens, famous for its specimen, the rare Encephalartos woodii.
