The Idaho Expo Fairgrounds, located on the northern reaches of the the city of Boise, are the venue for the largest and most entertaining fairs and festivals in the state of Idaho.

Generally, the state fair is held in late August (the last week of the month), and the grounds are open to the public from between 11 in the morning and 11 at night (except for the last night, when it closes earlier).

Lodging close to the fairgrounds can be had at the Hyatt Place Boise/Town Square, the Candlewood Suites Boise, and at Springhill Suites by Marriott Boise, among various other hotels and B&Bs throughout Boise.

While general admission to the fair is relatively cheap, at approximately $7, the rides inside the park have varying costs, and there are special wristband purchases for about $80 to ride attractions throughout the park for the entire week.

Exhibits at the fair include a variety of petting-zoo and farm animal themed attractions, in addition to the many rides available.
The grounds themselves are located at 5610 North Glenwood Street, located right along side the Plantation Golf Course.
