Impuls Arena

Impuls Arena is a football stadium in Augsburg, Germany. It was built between 2007 and 2009 and was inaugurated in July 2009. It was built by the football club FC Augsburg, as it is its home ground, involving the city of Augsburg. The naming rights to the stadium have been secured by Impuls AG for eight years. It was built for 45 million euro as a pure football stadium without a track and field facility. The scheduled construction costs of approximately EUR 1,300 per seat are low compared to other stages.
The stadium was planned in two phases of expansion: in the 1st First phase of construction, the stadium was built with a rank. Overall, it has 19,060 seats and another 11,034 standing places. The lodges offer further 520 guests and 46 seats were built for wheelchair users. Thus, the stadium reached a total capacity of 30,660 seats. In a possible second stage, the stadium will offer full seating 39,880 spectators, through the conversion of seats in the standing expandable to 49,000.
By the end of July 2008 the officers of the stadium construction site in Augsburg claimed, for cost reasons, a different exterior. The glass, transparent envelope is changed into aluminum tubes that illuminate it. Also a steel cable design was talking, but was a little later discarded. In December 2008 the FCA, finally submitted a planning application for the aluminum tube construction, to which it was agreed in February 2009.
In 2010, the Impuls Arena will host the FIFA Women's World Cup U-20. On 30 September 2008 was announced that the arena will host nine matches of the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2011.
