The INACE Naval Industry of Ceara State has a long and industrious history. The first aluminum shipbuilding center in Brazil, it was established as a premier middle-sized shipyard in the 1960s, and today is a leader in aluminum and steel luxury yacht construction, as well as in warship construction. To date, INACE has repaired, constructed, or converted more than 1,000 ships, not even stopping in the 1990s when the Brazilian business sector experienced a great decline. It has worked with tugs, barges, pushers, offshore support vessels, fishing boats, luxury yachts, and patrol crafts. In 1987, INACE was contracted and built the first of what would become six yacht series to be shipped to the United States. This opened up a whole new line of exportation to the United States, Canada, and various European countries. INACE maintains close ties to the Brazilian navy, with the company building numerous ships for the government including patrol craft.
