Indiana Repertory Theatre was established in 1972 and is one of the leading theaters in the Midwestern region. The Indiana General Assembly named it “Theatre Laureate” in 1991 to celebrate its tradition as a fully professional yet not-for-profit theater, the only of its kind in the state. The IRT occupies the Indiana Theatre building which dates back to 1927. Besides regular classes, educational programs, student matinees and “meet the Artist” prologues, the theater puts on a number of performances of plays like The Giver, Love Letters, Romeo and Juliet and A Christmas Carol.

Tickets for most shows start around $34 but different events vary. Group discounts are available and many matinee performances and student performances run much lower in price.
