Enjoy the sprawling grounds full of Florida wildlife, and two ponds- one which offers fishing- a Park drawing point. Al Lopez Park also has picnic shelter rentals available, which can be made by visiting the website or calling ahead. The Park offers many amenities, including a playground, dog park, jogging areas, walking trails, picnic areas, restrooms, grills, play courts, and a pier. Also inside the Park is the Hunt Community Center, which hosts the City of Tampa’s After School Activity Program for youth, and the Al Lopez Park Playground which encourages kids to not only play but exercise. Playground features include the Mobius, Spacenet and “Rock” climbing structures, the Playshaper, and Talking Tot Turf. Open to the public daily from 5am to 10pm, the Park is a great place to spend a day for kids of all ages.
