Located on Sears Point, in the southern Sonoma Mountains of Sonoma, California, is the Infineon Raceway. Built as the Sears Point Raceway in 1968, the track is one of only 4 venues to host annual NASCAR road course races. Besides NASCAR, Infineon hosts events for the Indy Racing League, the American Federation of Motorcyclists series, and amateur events like the Sports Car Club of America. The Infineon Raceway has room for 47,000 spectators in the grandstands and terraces, and room for 102,000 when temporary hospitality structures are set up around the track. If getting a feeling of deja vous on a first visit to the track, don’t be surprised as Infineon is featured in more than one racing video game. Tickets to individual events can be purchased by calling the Raceway’s 1-800 telephone number. There are many local campgrounds available for race fans, including the Trackside RV Terrace, 50 Acres Campground, Carousel Campground, and the Turn 8 Campground, amongst others.
