International Falls Airport is a small regional airport serving the residents of Northern Minnesota and northwestern Ontario, cities like Big Falls, Ash River, Baudette and Fort Frances. The airport dates back to 1948, when the city decided it needed to improve upon a few rough landing strips used by WWII pilots which were no longer sustainable. Commercial service began in 1953. Another improvement project (which ended in 2006) extended the runway and added to the airport’s reputation. More improvements are being completed, with a new parking lot and hangar area planned.

Daily service is available to the Minneapolis & St. Paul Airport on Delta and partner Northwest flights. Both short and long term parking are free at the airport. There is Wi-Fi service throughout the terminal area. Rental car companies Ford, Avis and Hertz are located outside of baggage claim. Taxis are also available to travelers outside of baggage claim.
