The International Market Place has an interesting back story, since without the generous donation of Queen Emma Kaleleonlani, it wouldn't have been possible to start up the market. One of the most interesting women in the rich and exciting history of Hawaii, Queen Emma was famous for her humanitarian work, founding a number of schools and medical centers.
