Originally used by the British Royal Air Force during World War II, the Inverness Airport (INV) wouldn’t see public use until 1947. Located north-east of the city of Inverness, INV is the main means for tourists and travelers to access the Scottish Highlands and is predominantly a regional airport.

With direct routes to England, Ireland, and regional airports of Scotland, INV sees only limited routes to the rest of Europe. This design is by the heaviest use by Flybe on its routes to London and other locations of the United Kingdom.

Although small, the airport offers basic comforts: Starbucks, WH Smith, the airport restaurant, or the café bar. There are also Hertz and AVIS car rental agencies as well as disabled and baby-change facilities. Connections are limited to a bus service three times a day on weekdays and the occasional taxi.
