ISS Dome

ISS Dome is a multi-function hall in the northern district of Düsseldorf, Rath, Germany. The foundation stone was laid on 19 May 2005 and the total construction costs were at just under 70 million euro (including the parking garage). ISS-Dome was opened on 2 September 2006. Its name comes from Danish facility services ISS that acquired the naming rights for ten years.
The hall offers for home games of the hockey club DEG Metro Stars Dusseldorf 13,400 spectators and is therefore entitled under the ESPRIT arena, the venue of the second-largest city of Düsseldorf, as well as the Lanxess Arena, the O2 World in Berlin and Mannheim SAP Arena, the fourth largest ice hockey stadium in Germany. At concerts and other events, the capacity is 12,500 spectators. By transforming the lower tier seating-areas on the north, east and west side, in the form of telescopic stands, there are about 4,000 standing places available, a rather unusual institution. Principal reason for the relocation of the hockey club was the fact that by that time corresponded to the 71-year-old ice stadium is no longer responding to the current requirements of a sporting event. As in Dusseldorf a hall of this capacity has been lacking and the ISS-Dome is now the gap between the 7550-seat hall in the district Philips Oberbilk and Esprit arena with a capacity of 51,500 spectators in Stockum, it was a fairly quick approval and no construction contrary.
The Dome is very well linked to the town as there are many bus lines and it is very close to the main road. For cars, there is a parking garage with 1,500 parking spaces, as well as 400 underground parking spaces for VIP guests in the hall.
