Istanbul Modern Art Museum

Istanbul Modern Art Museum, or Istanbul Modern for short, is located along the southern shores of Bosporus where Europe meets Asia. An old dock warehouse was converted into exhibition space as a venue for the thriving contemporary arts scene in Istanbul.

The museum’s collection comprises many disciplines, as such a diverse mix of art such as painting, sculpture, photography, video or installation pieces are included in the exhibits. It’s a place dedicated to local Turkish artists, both popular and upstarts. Permanent exhibitions occupy the upper floor galleries whilst the spacious lower floors houses temporary expositions. Apart from visual art, the Istanbul Modern also hosts an active film screening program where collective works of famous filmmakers are showcased.

Istanbul Modern Art Museum is open on Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The city is filled with cultural contrasts as traditions of the East mingle with those of Europe. Such colorful atmosphere pervades in hotels, which offer a mix of exotic charms and old-world elegance with modern conveniences.
