The terminal caters to destinations all over Turkey with countless intercity buses running all day. Minibuses travel from Izmir, Selcu and Jusadasi every 20 minutes throughout the day. The site also conveniently offers service directly to the city center of Izmir.

The bus terminal at Izmir is relatively new. Architect Merih Karaaslan Ilker Aksu designed the new construction of the terminal back in 1998. The new designs boasts of containing more shops and leisure possibilities for traveler's waiting on the next bus.

The design of the Izmir bus terminal bears futuristic undertones. The front of the building showcases a textile roof construction with a covered area of nearly 6.000m2. Its exterior is also somewhat out there. 26 funnel shaped umbrella roofs provide protection from the elements for even visitors outside the terminal.
