Located at 871 Riverland Drive, James Island County Park is truly one of South Carolina's best kept secrets. It sprawls over 643 acres on James Island, just outside the city of Charleston. This beautiful wooded park has multiple amenities that make it an ideal destination for any family. Even canine companions are catered to, with a designated off-leash dog area. With both a “developed” and a “primitive” campground, visitors can make a weekend out of every trip. Whether you are coming for the day or staying for a week, there are many diverse activities available to keep you busy.

Boat and kayak rentals are available from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and for those who prefer to stay on land, there is a bicycle rental service and multiple bike and walking paths. There are also volleyball courts and a playground for the kids.

Entrance is free, but camping fees range from $15.50 to $33.00 per campsite per night.
