The San Francisco Japanese Tea Garden is located in Golden Gate Park and is the oldest public garden of it’s kind in the state of California. The garden made it’s debut in 1894 during the California Mid-Winter Exposition of the World’s Fair and today still includes some features from this original display. The garden is a must-see highlight of any visit to Golden Gate Park.

The Japanese Tea Garden is open daily; summer hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and winter hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Admission is free on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays if you enter the garden before 10:00 a.m.; otherwise adults are $5, youth 12 to 17 are $3 and children 5 to 11 are $1.50.
