Jardim Zoologico RIOZOO Rio de Janeiro’s oldest zoo, covers 138,000 square meters of land and houses more than two thousand animals. Reptiles, mammals and birds can be seen at this South American zoo, as well as several threatened species as well. Visited by around 70,000 people per month, RIOZOO is one of Rio’s main natural attractions.

RIOZOO is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The entrance fee is just six Reals – quite the steal. Other events are held at the zoo throughout the year, including fairs and special “Zoo at Night” tours. The zoo is also a great stop for a child’s birthday party.
