The Jepson Center For the Arts is a mainstay on the vibrant arts scene of historic Savannah, Georgia. Under the umbrella of the Telfair Academy and the Owens-Thomas House, which also features other collection of decorative arts and period furnishings, the Jepson Center For the Arts is known for its special collections which boast numerous works of art done in diverse styles. The Jepson Center also possesses a children's gallery, outdoor sculpture terraces, and a community gallery. As a part of the Telfair Museum of Art, which was founded through a gift by prominent city resident Mary Telfair, and which opened in 1886 in the Telfair's mansion, the Jepson Center is one of the oldest and most well-known of all Savannah museums.
