Visitors are encouraged to visit: the Abbey, built by Joaquin Miller back in 1899 and established as a national landmark in 1963; the Tot Lot, for young children to play; the Cascades, a fountain built in 1935 and moved to Oakland by WPA employees during the 1940’s; the Woodminster Amphitheater, another WPA project from 1941, used for outdoor performances during the summer; and the Joaquin Miller Native Plant Nursery.
